Reused Tins and Coffe Cans for Storage
To create convincing terrain it is useful to have a variety of scatter materials on hand.

Flock, Tea and Coffe
But that does not mean you have to go broke doing it.
Here we explore some alternatives to expensive commercially available scatter materials

Sifting:
Many materials can be use just as they are found, but it is often desirable to process the materials to reveal even more uses. One of the most useful process is shifting.

Often it is the case that we hold in our hand the very thing for which we search, but not realizing it we through it away. Used coffee grounds can be used to represent rich soil.

One of the amazing properties of the universe is self similarity. Often a small part of a thing will embody much the same properties of the larger. This is very true for many of the textures of the world. To model sand it is difficult to find a better product then "Sand".
