An American made Six String Lap Steel
I found this at a garage sale back in the 1970s.
When I saw the case, I first thought it to be some set of tools. Much to my surprise and pleasure it was in fact a musical instrument.
I can not claim to have been familiar with lap steels guitars in those days, so I tuned it to the standard guitar tuning and tried to get a tune out of it.
Some items of note: the pickup is of a bridging type actually passing over the strings and the output is of a screw on type, not the standard 1/4 inch phone jack of more resent times.
It is now in the collection of Zorko, formerly of The Woggles.
