The USA is limited to essentially to the East of the Mississippi river. The Westward expansion is halted and the USA enters a period of intense military conflict with the Native Americans (Indians). The Indians form two nations in the form of "Dakota" between the northern reaches of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers and "The Indian Country" west of the Missouri. The Yank expansion is thwarted, in part, by the ready trade of arms with the Indians. As all parties (USA, FZT, RNW, New Spain, SFR, Mexico) have gains to make by trading with the Indians and trying to play one tribe off against others. Also the model of the training of the Askari Comanche in the FZT leads to a much more effective resistance to Yank expansion then in real history. The Indians are soon armed with their own field artillery which greatly reduces the effectiveness of the Yank fort system. The Yanks develop a strong riverine force and develop a number of other rapid response tactics.
